Increase in ‘unflushables’ entering into our wastewater treatment facilities

The Township has seen an increase in ‘unflushables’ entering into our wastewater treatment facilities. Not only are we seeing an increase in wipes but most recently, we are seeing masks and rubber gloves (see picture taken at our Granton Facility). This is extremely harmful particularly to our Granton facility because of it’s size and age.

When these type of items enter into our sanitary system, it causes equipment failure, additional required clean out and potential blockages. All of these issues are expensive (but preventive!) to taxpayers. Please help us preserve our sanitary system and waste water treatment facilities. Be Careful What You Flush.
