Election Day: October 27th, 2014

Internet & Telephone Voting

Residents can begin voting on October 20, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. (24 hours a day) until October 27th, 2014 at 8:00 p.m when the election closes.

If you do not have access to the internet or require assistance the Municipal Office/Voter Help Centre can be accessed M-F from 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m and Saturday, October 25th from 9:00 a.m-1:00 p.m.

Residents also have access to the public computers at the Lucan Library during their regular hours.

All eligible voters will receive a Voter’s Information Package (VIP). Included in the package will be a unique Personal Identification Number (PIN). Voters using the vote-by-phone method will dial into a toll free number, enter their PIN, then proceed to follow a touch tone menu to enter their votes. Voters using the internet method will log on to the election website, enter their PIN, then proceed to mark their ballots electronically.

# Deadline for alternative voting by-law and procedures - June 2, 2014

# Last day to withdraw - September 12, 2014 by 2 p.m.
# Deadline to appoint compliance audit committee - October 1, 2014
# Municipal Voting Day - October 27, 2014
# First day of new council term - December 1, 2014
# Filing deadline for candidate’s financial statement and auditor’s report - March 25, 2015

Accessibility

The accessibility goal of the Township of Lucan Biddulph’s Election Team for the 2014 Municipal Election is to ensure the needs of electors and candidates with disabilities continue to be addressed.

Section 45(2) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, as amended, states: “In establishing locations of voting places, the clerk shall ensure that each voting place is accessible to electors with disabilities.” This year the Township will be holding the election voting by Internet and Telephone Voting/
