The Township of Lucan Biddulph is pleased to announce the appointment of Ron DeBrouwer as the Township’s new Director of Emergency Services / Fire Chief, effective January 2, 2026.
Mr. DeBrouwer brings extensive leadership experience in fire and emergency services, with a strong background in operational management, emergency preparedness, and community-focused service delivery. In his new role, he will provide strategic leadership to the Township’s fire services, oversee emergency response operations, and continue to enhance public safety for residents across Lucan Biddulph.
“Ron’s experience, professionalism, and commitment to public safety make him an excellent fit for this role,” said Mayor Cathy Burghardt-Jesson. “We are confident that his leadership will further strengthen our emergency services and support the dedicated firefighters who serve our community.”
A key responsibility of this contract position will be the implementation of the Township’s Fire Services Master Plan to support long-term service delivery, operational effectiveness, and community safety. Mr. DeBrouwer also will also be responsible for managing fire suppression services, emergency planning, fire prevention and education programs, and ensuring compliance with provincial legislation and best practices.
