Notice: The Lake Huron Primary Water Supply System has advised that a temporary shutdown of water service to member municipalities is required to complete watermain repairs. The work is scheduled to begin at midnight on Tuesday, August 11 and is expected to be completed the same day.
Regular water service is expected to continue throughout the planned maintenance period.
The Township’s water system has sufficient storage to continue providing regular water service during temporary shutdowns of this nature. However, as a precautionary measure, residents and businesses are asked to voluntarily reduce non-essential water use on Tuesday, August 11 through noon on Wednesday, August 12, allowing the system time to fully recharge once the Lake Huron Primary Water Supply System returns to normal operation.
During this period, please consider postponing activities such as:
Filling swimming pools
Watering lawns and gardens
Washing vehicles
Other non-essential high-volume water use
Voluntary conservation will help maximize available municipal water reserves in the event the maintenance takes longer than anticipated or additional water is required for an emergency, such as firefighting.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping conserve our municipal water supply.
