The Township is preparing to start construction on Water Street.
Project Details:
Location – Water Street from Main Street to William Street. The civil contractor is Omega Contractors and the engineering consultant is Dillon Consulting Limited.
Scope – Complete water main replacement, upgrades to the storm sewers and culverts as well as curb, gutter, pavement and sidewalk replacement on Water Street as well as William St between Water and George Street. Sidewalks will remain on the same side and be updated to be compliant with current accessibility standards.
Schedule – The tentative schedule is to start May 19th however this date is subject to change depending on weather conditions. The project will take the majority of the summer to complete. There will be a second lift of asphalt installed in the spring of 2026. There is no work anticipated before 7:00am or after 6:00pm nor for any weekends or holidays.
Traffic Impacts – There will be considerable disruption on Water Street. Residents should expect full closure of the project limits with access for local residents only. There will be access for Emergency Vehicles. There will be periods of time and/or days where laneway access will be limited. Property Owners/Residents will be required to park elsewhere. Street parking on Water Street will be allowed.
Parking will also be available at the Main Street Municipal Parking Lot located beside the post office. This includes overnight parking. Notice will be given on any upcoming disruptions. If you have a special need or consideration, please contact the Township Office.
