Cold Alert Extension Extended**
The Health Unit is extending its Cold Alert until Sunday, January 25, as wind chill values are expected to remain low, with overnight temperatures continuing to drop throughout the weekend. Stay tuned to our social channels for updates as conditions change. Stay safe!
 
Cold Alert Extension Issued 
The Health Unit is issuing a Cold Alert Extension for January 19th and 20th as temperatures are expected to feel like –24°C during the afternoon and –27°C overnight into tomorrow due to wind chill. Cold conditions are expected to persist throughout the week.
Cold Weather Safety Tips:
  •  Stay indoors as much as possible (home, public spaces, libraries).
  •  Dress in warm layers and cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite.
  •  Drink warm fluids (avoid alcohol & caffeine).
  •  Prepare your home & car for winter.
